Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide title metal complex compsn. which is suitable for co-catalyst for fuel cell and with which the adsorption and the desorption of oxygen can reversely be carried out by a method wherein a specified hydrophilic-hydrophobic- hydrophilic block terpolymer is blended with amidophenylporphyrin iron (II) complex.
CONSTITUTION: Styrene and N-vinylimidazole are used as starting materials to produce an intermediate of formula I [wherein l is 0W1; m+n≥10; 1/2 (m+n) ≥n≥1] which is then used to produce a hydrophilic-hydrophobic-hydrophilic block terpolymer of formula II [wherein l, m, n are as defined above; k≥10(m+n)]. The block copolymer is blended with α,α,α,α,-meso-[tetra(o-pivaloylamido- phenyl)porphine] iron (II) complex in an amount of 2W5mol of imidazole unit in the block copolymer per mole of the complex to obtain title high polymeric metal complex in the form of an aq. soln.
