Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the disposal of sludge and conduct efficient dredging by a method wherein a sludge accumulated area is divided into the plural number of blocks, each of which is closed up, the surface water in each block is discharged, and further the sludge in specified blocks is removed, while the sludge in other blocks is transferred into these vacant sections, being given flocculating agents, and the sludge thus condensated is dredged.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge accumulated area of a river 1 is divided and closed up into the plural number of blocks AWH by steel sheet-piles 2. Then, after the surface water in the blocks AWH being discharged by an underwater pump (omitted from the figure), the blocks A and B are emptied by dredging sludge therefrom. Next, the sludge in the block C is transferred into the emptied block B, with its gross refuse removed by riddles, gratings 4 and the like. The sludge sent in the vacant block B is dredged by a pump 4 and further transferred into the vacant block A through a piping 5. In the course of this transfer a flocculating agent M is injected into the piping 5 and is churned by a churner 6. The sludge in the block A is condensated by 5W30 minutes for curing. Then the condensated and jellied sludge is dredged by grabs or pumps.
