Abstract

PURPOSE: To convert waste materials to a treated substance having no fear of secondary public nuisance by a method wherein the urban garbage is mixed with the sludge generated by water treatment and the obtained mixed slurry is dehydrated, thereafter the obtained treated substance is subjected to melt treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The fine garbage obtained by removing large substances or high density substances from the urban garbage subjected to grinding treatment is mixed with the sludge generated in a sewage treating plant 4 in a mixing machine 3 and the obtained slurry is sent into a tank 5. A part of the slurry is subjeced to methane fermentation within a degesting tank 6 by a heating apparatus 7. The generated methane is utilized as a stirring gas or a fuel of a digesting tank 6 and the slurry after digested is subjected to dehydrated treatment without adding a flocculating agent and dehydrated cake is dried at 10. The dried substance is treated in a heat decomposition furnace 11. The exhaust water from a dehydrator 9 is treated in a precipitation tank 12 and the sludge is again supplied to a dehydrator 9 and the exhaust water is treated by a fine coal powder filter apparatus 13 or the like, thereafter discharged. A part of the slurry is subjected to methane fermentation by a heating apparatus 7 and utilized as a fuel of heating apparatus 7 and a gas turbine 8.
