Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce ribbons, chips, pellets, etc., in the predetermined shape from those having high bulk specific volumes such as flakes, powders, films, etc. by sensing the discharge pressure of an extruder and changing the signal so obtained into a line speed signal by use of an arithmetic unit. CONSTITUTION:A feed having a bulk specific volume as high as 3-10 m<3>/ton is supplied from a hopper 1, melted in an extruder 3 and discharged from a die 6 through a filter 5 onto a cooling drum 7 in the form of sheet or ribbon. In this case, a varying discharge amount and the correponding discharge pressure are sensed with a pressure gauge 4 to give a sianal F which is, in turn, averaged by an averaging unit 13 and futher computed with an arithmetic unit 14. On basis of the thus obtained signal, speeds of driving the cooling drum and a cutter are controlled.
