Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent reduction of the brake force of a disc brake used for an motorcycle or the like at the time of the rainfall by forming the brake disc with penetrated holes and water guide passages communicating the penetrated holes and open to the outer periphery of the disc.
CONSTITUTION: A disc 11 is formed with a number of penetrated hole pair each consisting of two penetrated holes 15 radially arranged and water guide passages 16 each extending radially and connecting the penetrated holes 15 in each pair. These guide passages are open to the outer periphery of the disc 11. When brake is applied at the time of rainfall, brake pads 13 are urged against the brake surfaces 14, and rain water attached thereto is caused to escape through the penetrated holes 15 and water guide passages 16 to the outer periphery of the disc 11. Thus, water film of rain water formed on the brake surfaces 14 can be readily broken, and it is possible to alleviate or prevent the reduction of the brake force at the time of the rainfall.
