Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the code conversion for different data in a short time and with high efficiency, by switching the code converters to the specified field within the record to be trnsferred and then providing the code converters in the desired number.
CONSTITUTION: The type of the code conversion at the byte position of the data to receive the code conversion is memorized previously in data memory 17, and then the data delivered from memory 17 are aupplied to code converters 11W13 of different types each. At the same time, numerical value 1 is added with every transfer of the data by one byte. Then byte potsition counter 14 which operates on the byte clock for transfer control is installed along with memory 15 which memorizes previously the selection information corresponding to each byte position. Thus the selection information of the addresses which are designated in sequence by the output of counter 14 are delivered from memory 15 to be then decoded by decoder 16. Then converters 11W13 are operated by selection signals (a)W(c) decoded by decoder 16, and the code conversion is carried out each for supply to external unit 18.
