PURPOSE:To obtain an infrared-spectrophotometer record which can be overlapped and compared with existing records by using pulse generators separately for the wavenumber drive and the chart drive, and varying the scale ratio of the spectrum record. CONSTITUTION:Outputs from oscillators 10 and 15 are supplied to frequency dividers 30 and 40 through frequency dividers 20 and 25. One of the outputs drives a wavenumber-driving pulse motor 70, and scans the spectral wavenumber of the light to be measured. The other drives a chart-driving pulse motor 75 for feeding a chart. The divider 30 contains 1/2 counters, which can be changed over by a switch 39, and the divider 40 contains 1/4, 1/3 and 1/5 counters, which can be selected by a switch 49. Thus, the ratio of a wavenumber scale of less than 2000cm<-1> to that of more than 2000cm<-1> can be altered in two or more steps, and the scale of less than 2000cm<-1> can be continuously varied, so that a record which can be overlapped and compared with existing records, can be obtained.
