Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove O2 in the gas at high removal rate, by causing a gas inert to hydrazines to contact with a solution containing hydrazines and activator quinones.
CONSTITUTION: A solution is prepared by containing hydrazines (e.g. hydrazine hydrate), and quinones as activator (e.g. trimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone) or a reaction product of hydroquinone compound a reduced type of quinone, in alkaline solution. The concentration of hydrazines in this solution should be 1W64wt% as hydrazine, and concentration of activator should be 0.01W20wt%. The pH of this solution should be preferably 10 or more. A gas inert to hydrazine (such as air or nitrogen containing O2) is casued to contact with this solution usually at 20W80°C, and O2 in the gas is removed at high removal rate.
