Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a tape from being wound tightly by setting tape tension to a random variation pattern by changing the control position of a tape loop in an air column.
CONSTITUTION: Tape 1, forming tape loop 10 in air column 6, is wound around take-up reel 5 by fixed take-up tension being applied with tension according to a differenc in pressure between atmospheric pressure part 11 and negative pressure part 12 in the column. Position l of tape loop 10 in column 6 is adjusted to set position l0 by converting deviation Δl from set position l0 into current (i) by signal converting amplification part 16 and then by feeding it back to DC driving motor 14 of take-up reel 5. Desired value l0 is given according to predetermined pattern 15 corresponding to tape take-up diameter (d) measured by take-up reel 5. Consequently, variation in tension according with take-up diameter (d) is controlled to apply nearly even tension to tape 1.
