Abstract

PURPOSE: A water-dilution type film-forming composition used in rust inhibition of metal surfaces, containing a copolymer prepared by copolymerization of an epoxidized derivative/α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid adduct, an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and an α,β-unsaturated acid ester containing a specific group.
CONSTITUTION: A film-forming composition is prepared from a copolymer prepared from (A) an adduct between at least one member selected from the group consisting of epoxidized derivatives of polybutadiene, epoxidized derivatives of drying oil, epoxidized derivatives of drying oil-constituting fatty acids and hydroxylated derivatives of polybutadiene, and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or a hydroxylated derivative thereof, (B) at least one member selected from the group consisting of α,β-unsaturated acids, anhydrides thereof, alkyl esters thereof, alkyl vinyl ethers and aromatic vinyl compounds, and (C) at least one member selected from the group consisting of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid esters containing a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an epoxy group or a phosphate ester group.
