Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reproducibility of a grained pattern on polystyrene by a method wherein respective polystyrene of noncolouring, colouring the base colour, and colouring a pattern colour having a special fluid property and a mixture of the lubricant consisting of a specific quantity respectively having a melting point of a specific range are extruded for molding. CONSTITUTION:70-80pts.wt. of noncolouring polystyrene (A) having 2-5 of a melt flow index (FM value), 10-15pts.wt. of the base colouring polystyrene (B) having FM value of 10-20, 0.3-2.0pts.wt. of a pattern colouring polystyrene (C) with FM value of 0.2-0.6 fluctuating + or - 0.1, 20-30pts.wt. of noncolouring polystyrene (D) having a FM value Y derived from FM value X of said C and formula 1, and 0.2-0.4pt.wt. of lubricant having the melting point of 50-150 deg.C are mixed for extrusion molding. Since the grain size of polystyrene C resin gives the effect on the size of pattern texture, 1-5mm size is preferred specially.
