Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain always constant detecting function by picking up an engine driving age information to detect the engine driving time, accumulating the time and correcting the aged change of the slice level of an exhaust gas sensor on the basis of the information.
CONSTITUTION: The data of the slice level of an exhaust gas sensor corresponding to the integration of the engine driving age information from a table stored in a ROM is retrieved in a step 162. This slice level is stored in a RAM in a step 164. The integrated value is compared with the exchange time of the sensor in a step 166 to finish a task when the integrated value is judged not to reach the exchange time of the sensor. When the integrated value is judged to reach the exchange time of the sensor in a step 166, an alarm output is produced in a step 168. When the sensor is exchanged and reset-on is detected in a step 170, the integrated value of the aged change of the previous sensor is set to zero in a step 174 to complete a task, and new integration will start. As a result, the aged change is corrected.
