Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the effective suppression to the redundancy and thus secure the characteristics of the small-number line coding, by giving the reading to the picture signals of continuous and several scanning lines for the picture information distributing in the two-dimensional way in sequence and in the secondary scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:In the case of system A, scanning lines 1, 2 and 3 are collected into scanning line 23A along with the picture elements arranged as 1a, 2a, 3a and so on. Scanning lines 4, 5 and 6 are collected into scanning line 24A with the picture elements arranged as 4a, 5a, 6a and so on. In system B, the sequence is made zigzag for the picture elements to be rearranged. And picture elements 3a/3b, 1b/1c... which are adjacent to each other are also positioned adjacent even after rearrangement. Accordingly, the continuous amount of the same signal increases by the amount of the above arrangement, thus the increment being expected for the redundancy suppression factor when coding. In system C, the sequence of the corresponding picture elements to be rearranged is made upside down with every scanning line group to be collected.
