Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a magenta dye image free from a hue change of its transferred color image due to pH and having superior dark discoloration resistance by using a compound having a specified group at a specified position to its azo group, esp. a dye releasing redox compond. CONSTITUTION:A compound having OR<1> at the 4-position to its azo group is used. It is represented by formula I [where Q<1> is H, halogen, SO2NR<2>R<3>, SO2R<4>, COOR<5> or the like; Q<2> is OH, NHCOR<6> or the like at the 5- or 8-position to G; R<1> is aryl; each of R<2> and R<3> is H, alkyl or the like; R<2> and R<3> may form a ring directly or through O; R<4> is alkyl or the like; R<5> is alkyl or phenyl; R<6> is alkyl or the like; J is SO2 or CO; Z is H or alkyl; X is of formula II; each of A1 and A2 is alkylene or arylene; L is O, CO, sulfonamide or the like; G is a hydrolyzable group of formula III or IV; E is alkyl or aryl; Y is a component which forms an azo dye compound having diffusibility different from that of the azo dye image forming compound of formula I by development under alkali conditions; and each of m, q, n and p is 0 or 1]. Thus, a stable magenta color image is provided.
