Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to vary freely a frequency extending over a broad band and to put FM and PM modulation into effect, by controlling an oscillation frequency by the output of an arithmetic circuit which calculates a difference between the output of a frequency setting part and that of a digital counter. CONSTITUTION:The signal of oscillator 1 is measured by digital counter 2 and a BCD code of a desired frequency set by the digital switch of desired-frequency setting part 4 is compared with that of a value measured by counter 2 by arithmetic circuit 3 to judge the polarity by the difference between the both and also to control oscillation frequency control part 5, so that the oscillation frequency of oscillator 1 will be equalized to the frequency set by setting part 4. Additionally, control part 5 is driven by a motor to bring slow AFC operation of a specific number to effect and, on the other hand, a varactor diode, etc., is used to perform fast AFC operation of the specific number.
