Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the display of the 3-dimensional pattern in the form of the cubic pattern by providing the transmitter to the pen point and then detecting this transmitter to read the 3-dimensional coordinate value of the pen point.
CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic wave is transmitted by electronic pen 2 and then received by receiver 3. The phase difference is caused to the received signals of receiver 3 according to the position of pen 2, and 3-dimensional coordinate detector 4 detects the position of pen 2 via the phase difference. Then signal SO is supplied to cubic pattern memory unit 5 for memorization, and unit 5 decomposes signal SO into signal component SR to correspond to the picture viewed through the right eye and signal component SL to correspond to the picture viewed through the left eye respectively to supply them to right and left picture producing devices 6 and 7 each. Thus the video signals are produced for right and left eyes each, and at the same time the pictures of screen 8R and 8L to be reproduced on screen 8R and 8L as the visible picture images are formed at the right and left eyes of man 1 via the opaque mirror with no disturbance by pen 2 to man's eyes. Thus a coincidence is obtained between the cubic virtual image and the position of pen 2.
