Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the C/N ratio of a light receiver by inserting a coil into the FET input stage of a preamplifier circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A coil L is inserted at the FET input stage of the preamplifier of a light receiver. As a result, the C/N ratio of the receiver is improved. When the received light power becomes low and the shot noise becomes low, the C/N ratio is remarkably improved owing to the insertion of the coil.
