Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the operation of both cargo train and passenger train by a simple handle manipulation by providing a specified control function to the handle portion of a master control system.
CONSTITUTION: A handle 50 of a master control system can be switched to any of positions from 1W5 indicating notch positions. The notch positions from 1W3 are used for the operation of cargo trains and the notch positions 4 and 5 are used for passenger trains. When the handle is moved to the first notch position, the master-brake system compulsively brings back a resistance control notch by one- notch step. The second notch indicates a compulsive-notch-holding-command position and the third notch indicates a compulsive-notch-advancing position. When the handle is moved between the second and third notches back and forth, the notch advances by the number of movements. The fourth notch position is an automatic advancing position, wherein the accelerating-current pattern varies from the minimum to the maximum depending on the width of the angle of the handle. The fifth notch controls the switching action of the connections of the main circuit from parallel to series and vice versa.
