Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize fading of a magenta color image and the degree of coloring a white ground by adding a compound prepared by introducing tertiary alkyl groups into a p-alkoxyphenol to an emulsion layer containing 3-anilino-5-pyrazolone type coupler.
CONSTITUTION: To an emulsion layer containing 3-anilino-5-pyrazolone type coupler is added a compound prepared by introducing tertiary alkyl groups at the 2- and 5-positions of a p-alkoxyphenol represented by formula I, e.g., the compound of formula II in an amt. of 0.5W200wt% to the amt. of the coupler. At this time, a fading inhibitor and so on are used combinedly. Thus, fading of a magenta color image formed by color development and the degree of coloring a white ground portion due to the residual coupler are minimized, resulting in a magenta color image free from a cyan tone.
