Abstract

PURPOSE:To make data multiplex transmission possible during audio nontransmission by rationalizing audio response to a decentralized subscriber by providing each remote station with a pay-station-line control method and data multiplexer while centralizing an audio sending method at a center. CONSTITUTION:Center 200 is provided with audio response unit 203, and remote station RS201 with network controller 214 and data multiplexer 211. To send sound from unit 203 to the downward line of an audio-only circuit, CPU202 places circuit switch 206 at unit 203 side to send the sound transmitted 203 to subscriber 215 of a pay-station telephone network by way of a leased circuit, HYB213 and unit 214. After the completion of audio transmission 203, switch 206 is switched to MODEM207 by an indication from CPU202 and transmitted data stored in communication controllr 208 are data-multiplexed in sequence, so that the data will be transferred between RS201 and unit 211.
