Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform accurate measuring of a water-level rising rate by giving digital indication to the time when the rising water-level touches plural water- level sensing elements provided in a measuring hole at a given interval.
CONSTITUTION: When the water level rising up touches a sensing element (a) set in a measuring hole not shown in the fugure, a sensor 1' for starting gives a pulse, by which each of digital timers 3, 3a and 3b starts simultaneously the count of a time signal from an oscillating device 2. Later, when the water level rises higher and the surface of water reaches a point (b), the count of the timer 3 is stopped by the pulse given by the sensor 1, the value of the count being indicated on an indicating device 4. The time required for a rise up to point (c) and (d) is shown in indicating devices 4a and 4b as well. Given that the time required for rising up to the point (d) is t2 and that the distance between the points (a) and (d) is 3l, the water-level rising rate V can be found by a formula: t2/3l.
