Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce stains, photographic fogs, etc. by providing a halide ion removing bath between developing baths in the color development of silver halide color photographic material by the color developing baths which are divided to multiple tanks. CONSTITUTION:In the color development to be done by subsequently dipping the color photographic material in the color developing baths provided in multiple tanks, a halide ion removing bath [the bath composed of an aqueous solution of extremely small halide ion content (about 0.6g/l is preferable)] is provided between the above-mentioned developing tanks, to prevent the carry-over of halide ions into the color developing baths after this removing bath. Here, the pH of the halide ion removing bath is preferably about 6-13 and the processing time in the removing bath is preferably about 1-30sec. The concentration of the color developing agent of the final color developing bath is preferably about 0.05-3g/l.
