Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure communication between an oil inlet port and an oil pump, by opening an oil inlet port at a rear portion in the bottom wall of oil pan, and connecting the oil inlet port to the oil pump disposed at the front of engine block via a passage formed integrally in the wall of oil pan. CONSTITUTION:An oil inlet port 16 is formed at a rear portion in a bottom wall 15 of an oil pan 13 of engine block 4 which is disposed in a backwardly tilted manner, and the oil inlet port 16 is opened toward the back of the engine block 4. The port 16 is connected to a passage 18 formed integrally in the bottom wall 15 and a front wall 17 of the oil pan 13 and communicated therethrough to a oil pump 22.
