Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a coating composition giving a coating film having excellent scratch resistance, flexibility, dyeability, and durability, by compounding a hydrolyzate of a specific epoxysilane compound, fine silica powder, and an aluminum chelate compound.
CONSTITUTION: A composition containing (A) a hydrolyzate of a silane compound having one or more (methyl)glycidyl groups and two or more Si-bonded alkoxyl groups in a molecule, e.g. γ-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane, (B) hydrolyzate of β-(3,4-epoxycyclohexylethyl trialkoxysilane), (C) fine powder of silica having an average particle diameter of 1W100mμ, and (D) an aluminum chelate compound of formula [X is lower alkoxy; Y is a ligand derived from M'COCH2COM2 or M3COCH2COOM4 (M1-4 are lower alkyl) n is 0, 1 or 2].
EFFECT: The dyed coating film exhibits low discoloration tendency with chemicals and adhesives, and has high durability.
