Abstract

PURPOSE:To make use of a protective device for a nuclear power plant, thermoelectric power plant, etc., efficiently by giving a high-reliability protecting function by enabling an automatic test of the device itself by exercision a constant supervision over the operation margin value of an alarm setter. CONSTITUTION:Process variables at the same point of a plant are detected and converted by two transmitters 1A and 1B into electric signals, which are inputted to alarm setters 3A and 3B to calculate how much there are margins between the input signals and set values (hereafter called an operation margin value) and also to apply those outputs to comparator 4. Next, comparator 4 makes a comparison between operation margin values outputted from setters 3A and 3B to judge whether the difference is within a constant range or not, and if the difference would surpass the range, an alarm process is performed. Thus, this protective device, enabling a constant supervision including a transmitter alarm setter, can be utilized for a nuclear power plant, thermoelectric power plant, etc., efficiently.
