Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent irregular feeding and slip of paper at space shifting at a printing unit in a line printer, by furnishing te printing unit with an function to perform a correction feed operation when feeding paper on the basis of a corrected spacing.

CONSTITUTION: When a phase advancing pulse is output from a paper feed control section 16 in a case where, for example, one-inch long printing paper is fed under the conditions including a page-changing feed, 6LPI two-line spacing, 8LPI two-line spacing and 6LPI page-changing feed, a paper feed motor 4 is rotated to set FCT channel 1 undetected signal to logic-0. When an instruction for two-line spacing is given, a data input from an octal count 18 is selected by a data selector 20, and eight phase advancing pulses are counted by the octal count 18 to return one shifting pulse to the control section 16. A second shifting is conducted in the same manner. A switch 25 is then shifted to select a data input from a sexal count 19. When 6LPI page-changing feed is then conducted, one-line shifting is effected with ten phase advancing pulses, and two-line shifting with eight phase advancing pulses. The paper feed opration is then stopped.
