Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely clean the inside surface of the mold without damaging the same by rubbing the inside surface of the mold produced by an investment casting process by resin particles.
CONSTITUTION: After the mold made by a lost wax process is sufficiently cleaned with compressed air as in a conventional manner, resin particles, e.g., styrene- base resin particles 2 are flowed into the mold, thence the mold is oscillated in four ways to clean its inside. As a result of this, the recovered resin particles 2 are mixed with the small pieces and powder of refractories 1, thus the cleaning effect may be checked. Next, the mold from which the resin particles 2 have been recovered is preheated to, e.g., 400°C to let the remaining resin particles to extinct completely. Here, 3 in the figure denotes a cover.
