Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the number of steps of treating a corona shield layer and material for the layer by forming a base material layer by coating SiC paint on an iron- containing asbestos cloth to provide sufficient contact with adjacent layer even with narrow lap width.
CONSTITUTION: A low resistance paint layer 3 is formed on an insulating layer 2 for coating a coil conductor 1, and an iron-containing asbestos base material layer 4, a SiC paint layer 5 and a cover insulation layer 6 are sequentially coated adjacent to the layer 3. The layer 4 is formed by coating SiC paint 5a on an iron-containing asbestos cloth. Since lower resistance SiC paint is brought in contact with the iron- containing asbestos cloth in planar state as compared with the conventional varnish, it improves the contact of the adjacent layer with the connecting portions A, B so as to sufficiently conduct corona shield with narrow lap width.
