Abstract

PURPOSE:To replenish always a constant volume of developer, by generating an elimination signal by providing a replenisher detecting plate at the end part projecting from the container of a carrying means having a magnetic roller and a nonmagnetic cylinder enclosing the roller disposed horizontally, in a replenisher container. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic roller 6 and a nonmagnetic cylinder 7 enclosing this are horizontally disposed in a developer replenishing container 5, and an end part of each is projected out of the container 5 through a gap 8 and positioned upward of a replenishment agent accepting part 13 of a developing unit. In this constitution, when the magnetic roller 6 is rotated in the cylinder 7 by a motor 10, the carrier in the replenisher around the cylinder is magnetized, and attracted by the circumference of the cylinder. The carrier rotates on the cylinder and revolves in the reverse direction of the rotating direction of the roller 6. Being guided by an abrasiv strip 11 on the surface of the cylinder 7, the carrier passes through a circumferential gap 8 and is scraped off by a scraper 12 to be replenished into the replenishment agent accepting part 13 of the developing unit. Besides, by providing a microswitch 16 and a detection plate 17 to detect elimination of the replenishment agent, smooth and constant-volume replenishing may be realized.
