Abstract
PURPOSE:To let the captioned load setting be readily done by loading the face pressure without changing the spacing between the sliding face and lower metal frame by the pressure doubling device constituted to the sliding nozzle device or the insertion from the outside. CONSTITUTION:The compressing coil springs 72, 72... for face pressure load setting are disposed on the lower metal frame (also called lower case) 71 fixed or supported to the sliding nozzle device body 6 and the top ends of the springs 72 are restrained by elevatable spring holders 73. The sliding body 76 and upper case 74 placed on the spring holders 73 form the spacing 78 in which a cassette is tightly contained. The fixing plate 1 and sliding plate 2 are loaded as a cassette into the spacing 78. The springs 72... act simultaneously with the loading, but the action is not perfect yet. Adequate face pressure is exerted only after the receiver 7 is contained in the device body 6 and the body 6 is fixed to the bottom of the molten steel vessel. The coupling of the plate 1 and pouring nozzle 5 and the setting or adjustment of the face pressure load are accomplished by known means such as toggle mechanism.
