Abstract

PURPOSE: To continuously produce grains having a minimized content of extraneous matter, and reduce the cost of manufacturing an apparatus for this purpose, by atomizing a starting material by a spray nozzle provided at an upper portion of the interior of a fluid-containing granulation tank, which atomized material is supplied to a fluid bed, while supplying a binder to the same fluid bed by another spray nozzle also provided at an upper portion of the interior of the granulation tank.
CONSTITUTION: A starting liquid material is sprayed from a spray nozzle 2 provided at an upper portion of the interior of a granulation tank 1, to form fine particles having a particle size of 50W200μ. These fine particles drop to form a fluid bed 5 above a current setter 4, which is provided at a lower portion of the interior of the tank 1, with a fluidization gas blown upwardly through the current setter 4. A liquid material serving as a binder is supplied to the fluid bed 5 from a spray nozzle 3 disposed below the nozzle 2. The fluidization gas is supplied to the tank 1 from a fluidization gas generating furnace 9. A pressure loss is detected at static pressure detection terminals 32, 32' to control a rotary valve 13 via a differential pressure indicating controller 33 while objective grains are discharged from the fluid bed 5. The grains thus obtained are subjected to selection in a shifter 31, and grains of smaller sizes are returned to the tank 1 via a grinding blower 29.
