Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance electromagnetic efficiency and to make the configuration compact and light weight by giving a special relationship between a stroke and a conical angle.
CONSTITUTION: When a suitable input current is given to a coil 5, a plunger 10 moves to the position until it is balanced with the reaction force of a spring 13. The input current and the position of the plunger 10 have a proportional relationship. The conical angle between a core 2 and the plunger 10 is determined as follows: If the stroke is less than 3mm, the angle lies between 30° and 70°; if the stroke lies between 3mm and 7mm, the angle lies between 20° and 50°; and if the stroke is more than 7mm, the angle lies between 10° and 30°.
