Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a diffusion unit which enables an easy and precise measurement on a cassette system, by filling a migration diffusion tank and communication tank, communicating with buffer-liquid tanks provided at both ends of the diffusion tank, with a gelled supporter for migration diffusion.
CONSTITUTION: Migration diffusion layer 1 with an opening at its top is provided at both ends with communication tanks 2 extending downward. Through communication holes 8..., both tanks 2 communicate with buffer-liquid tanks 7, which are provided with electrodes 6 at positions opposing to communication holes 8 and with air vents 9 at their top and contains a buffer liquid. Those tanks 1 and 7 are filled with gelled supporter 3 for migration diffusion such as agar and agarol, tested bodies are injected from injection hole 4 of supporter 3, and a voltge is applied from electrodes 6, causing the tested bodies to migrate. After the end of the migration, the injection of antiserums through antiserum injection groove 5 makes it possible to observe a sedimentation line corresponding to reactions of antibodies and antigens through immune diffusion, and this migration diffusion unit can employ the cassette system, so that an easy and precise migration diffusion measurement can be taken.
