Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the cake of low moisture contents be formed by providing a screw flight rotatably on the inside barrel of a gimlet type barrel filter material thereby discharging the water coming out from sludge from the inside barrel of the gimlet type filter material while filtering and pressing the sludge.
CONSTITUTION: The inside barrel 5 of gimlet form barrel type filter material provided with a filtrate discharge port 10 and ribs 7 is fixed in the outside barrel 3 of cylindrical filter material provided with a hopper 2 having a sludge feed port 1 and a dehydrated cake discharge port 6. A rotary screw flight 4 having a shaft 8 is concentrically disposted to the outer side of this inside barrel 5. Thereby, the charged sludge is sent to the dehydrated cake discharge port 6 direction by the rotation of the screw flight 4 and the water oozing out from the sludge through filtration and compression is discharged from the outside barrel 3 and inside barrel 5. The sludge is filtered, pressed and dehydrated by being applied with pressure gradually with a decrease in the annular spacing between the outside barrel 3, inside barrel 5 and rotating screw flight 4, and the dehydrated cake of low moisture contents is obtainable from the cake discharge outlet 6.
