Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal noises, abrasion, and the like by forming V-shaped protruded portions at the contact points of a carbon brush and a commutator in order to make point contact, thereby the contact portions are suitably fit each other.
CONSTITUTION: A tubular commutator 2 is fixed to a motor shaft 1, and a carbon brush 4 is resiliently contacted by a plate spring 4. Two V-shaped protruded portions are formed at both sides of the edge of the carbon brush 4, and the tips of the protruded portions are slidingly contacted with a tubular commutator 2. In this constitution, the carbon brush and the commutator are point-conacted, inclining and rolling of the brush are reduced, and stable contact conditions can be obtained.
