Abstract
PURPOSE: To descend a rake into the water by force to rake up residues securely by a guide mechanism and the like wherein the rake of a residue remover which is installed at a settling basin or at a water intake passage in a power plant is ascended or descended twice as long a distance as a wire ascending or descending.
CONSTITUTION: An ascending and descending guide block 2 fitted tightly to a wire 11 moves along a guide frame 3 when a winding drum 14 is rotated by a driving device for ascending and descending a wire. An ascending and descending wheel 7 moves accompanied by the guide block 2 and rolls in engagement with a chain 6 to the guide frame 3. A rake mounted boom 1 ascends or descends with this movement. The rake mounted boom 1 ascends or descends then twice as long a distance as the guide block 2 which ascends or descends by traction of the wire 11. At the same time the ascending or descending speed of the rake 8 also becomes twice as fast as that of the guide block 2, to provide the rake 8 with such a stronger penetrating force into the water that residues can be safely raked up even if there are bulky wastes with a high buoyancy.
