Abstract

PURPOSE: To slit a band steel into strips by slitting the band steel by the combination of plural slitting heads.
CONSTITUTION: A band steel 4 is unwound on an uncoiler 5 and fed to a first slitting unit 3 through S-rolls. The slitting unit 3 has plural slitting heads 21, ..., 2n. Each slitting head has a pair of slitting blades 1. The paris of slitting blades of the respective slitting heads are offset to each other corresponding to the number of strips or the dimensions of strips to be produced. The positions of the slitting blades of the respective slitting heads are adjustable corresponding to the required dimensions of the strips.
