Abstract
PURPOSE:To take out slurry with small content of small particle size fraction efficiently by a method wherein slurry is taken out of a tank type reactor with a rotary agitator through the wall surface and further washed countercurrentwise. CONSTITUTION:Slurry (for example, the slurry of granular polyolefin) consisting of a liquid medium and a granular polymer with specific gravity higher than the medium is taken out of a tank type reactor 1, to which a rotary agitator equipped with agitating blades 3 to a shaft 2 of a motor 4 is installed, through taking out port 20 disposed to a wall surface of the reactor 1. The slurry is forwarded to a counter- current washing tower 9 through a conduit 8, and washed by a medium for washing from a feed port 10 countercurrentwise. The slurry containing small particle size fraction is flowed back and returned to the reactor 1 through a conduit 14 for recovery, a pump 15, a valve 16, a recovery port 21, etc. Meanwhile, the slurry composed of large particle size fractions, which is separated and deposits to a lower portion of the washing tower 9, is taken out of the system through a conduit 13 via a valve 11 interlocking with a level controller 12.
