Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare artificial granular product for oral administration, which is resistant to deformation caused by the separation and dissipation of water from the interior of the granule, by treating edible granules containing edible sol and/or edible gel with an agent containing aldehydes. CONSTITUTION:Mono- or multi-layered edible granules containing edible sol and/or edible gel, and optionally containing an oily substance, e.g. artificial roe, such as artificial salmon roe, wherein at least one of the layer is formed by the treatment with a treating agent containing aldehydes substantially free from formaldehyde, such as an aqueous solution of acetaldehyde, butyl-aldehyde, valeraldehyde, etc., pref. with a 0.01-50% aqueous solution of the aldehyde at pH2-10.
