Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide turning members for a turbo-machine having a high rigidity and with no clearance formed between a turbine wheel or wheels and its shaft, by fitting the turbine wheel on the shaft by way of interference fit, that is, urging the turbine wheel onto a stopper fixed to the shaft by means of a jack attached to one end of shaft until the turbine wheel comes into close contact with the stopper in the axial direction of the shaft.
CONSTITUTION: In assembly of the turbo-machine, one or more turbine wheels 2 are fitted on shaft 1 by way of interference fit. That is, by means of a hydraulic jack consisting of high-pressure hydraulic oil 6, cylinder 7 and piston 5 fixed at one end of shaft 1 by the intermediary of a spacer piece 4 having a proper length, turbine wheel 2 is urged in the axial direction of shaft 1 to come into close contact with center flange 1a, by a force higher than the axial frictional force acted between shaft 1 and turbine wheel 2 by the interference fit. Thereafter, the hydraulic jack is detached from place, but an axial frictional force by the interference fit remains in the contact area of wheel 2 and shaft 1. Turning members of the turbo-machine is assembled by repeating the above procedures, tightening spacer piece 4 by driving nut 3 at the time of fitting a last wheel 2, and then removing the hydroaulic jack and spacer piece 4 out of place.
