Abstract

PURPOSE: To mass produce the durable latticework at a low cost, by cutting into thin wall the inner face of longer side of the crosspiece made of a rectangular pipe at the position of insert hole bored in the pipe frame, and then, by inserting the crosspiece into the insert hole, and by pushing the crosspiece in axial direction so as to cause a buckling deformation in the thin walled part.

CONSTITUTION: The insert holes 2, 2... are bored in the inner side of respective upper and lower pipe frames 1, 1; the inner face of longer side of the rectangular pipe type crosspieces 3, 3... at the part equivalent to the insert hole is cut to form the thin wall part. The crosspieces 3, 3... are inserted into the insert holes 2, 2... ot the pipe frames 1, 1... and are pushed in axial direction so as to cause a buckling deformation in the thin walled part of crosspieces 3, 3...; hereby, the outward projecting threads 5, 5... are formed. These projecting threads 5, 5... are grasped by the insert holes 2, 2..., and hereby, the crosspieces 3, 3... are rigidly unified with the frames 1, 1. Since this method does not use the welding, the protective coat, the plated coat, etc., on the surface of crosspieces 3, 3... are perfectly conserved, and the durability of the latticework is remarkably improved.
