Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a harmful heat medium from mixing into hot water supply by constituting a heat exchanger port by a double tube and providing detecting means between an inner tube and an outer tube.
CONSTITUTION: An outer tube 14 constituting a heat exchanger 13 is closed at its one end, and another end thereof is extended to the outside of a tank 1 to form a upright tube 16. An intersection point a formed by the upright tube 16 and an inner tube 15 is sealed water-tightly, and the upper end b of the upright tube 16 is opened. A water level switch 17 is provided at the upper part of the upright tube 16. By the operation of the water level switch 17, an alarm device 18 is actuated. When a part of the inner tube 15 or outer tube 14 of the heat exchanger 13 gets damages, the heat medium or supply hot water is placed in the outer tube 16 outside the hot water storage tank 1, the alarm device 18 is actuated by the water level switch 17 provided in the outer tube 16 thereby to give an alarm, and, at the same time, the heat medium or supply hot water is discharged automatically to the outside. Accordingly, the mixing of the harmful heat medium in the hot water supply can be prevented.
