Abstract

PURPOSE:To cool a high-tension mercury-arc lamp uniformly by a mechanism wherein the first surfaces of reflection are mounted to reflecting plates and the fixed, second surfaces of reflection to the top portions through stage portions continuously, and blast ports and suction ports are installed to the second surfaces of reflection. CONSTITUTION:Ventilating passages 7 are formed among instrument bodies 1 and reflecting plates 2, and a large number of blast ports 8 are drilled to the second surfaces of reflection 5 while facing to a high-tension mercury-arc lamp 6 in shapes that are communicated with the ventilating passages 7. When lighting the lamp 6, light is efficiently reflected by means of the first surfaces of reflection 3 of the reflecting plates 2 and the second surfaces of reflection 5, and ultraviolet rays are irradiated. Air is pressure-sent to the ventilating passages 7 at the same time, and jetted against an upper surface portion of the high-tension mercury-arc lamp 6 from the ventilating ports 8. In this case, since the blast ports 8 are mounted to the second surfaces of reflection 5 continuously installed to the upper portions of the first surfaces of reflection 3 through stage portions 4, winds for cooling collide with the lamp 6 under a condition that is sufficiently diffused, and the lamp 6 is cooled wholly and uniformly.
