Abstract
PURPOSE: To adjust rapidly various characteristics automatically in parallel by controlling required adjustment on a basis of a reproducing signal divided into plural bands which is obtained by recording and reproducing a wide-frequency band signal of power spectrum.
CONSTITUTION: The wide-frequency spectrum signal of power spectrum outputted from signal generator 30 is recorded on band-shaped magnetic recording material 1 through amplifier 10 and equalizer 11 together with the bias current outputted from oscillator 7 and is reproduced. This reproducing signal is divided into plural bands by high-band filter detector 21, band-pass filter detector 25 and low-band filter detector 29 and becomes cntrol signals through integrators 20, 24 and 28. Then, the characteristic of recording equalizer 11, the bias current from oscillator 7, the gain of recording amplifier 10, reproducing equalizer 14, etc., are automatically adjusted in parallel while comparing the control signals above with oscillation outputs of corresponding bands from oscillator 30 by comparators 19, 23 and 27. Consequently, required characteristics of the magnetic recording device can be adjusted automatically rapidly.
