Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect the driving source from disturbance due to the burning of compressor, by providing means for detecting the slip between rotary members at the sides of driving source and compressor which constitute the clutch and releasing the operation of clutch.
CONSTITUTION: When turning a switch to supply power to the coil 5 of electromagnetic clutch 3, magnetic field is produced around the coil 5 thereby the disc 14 is attracted to the rotor 7. Consequently the rotation of engine 8 is transmitted to the shaft 9 of compressor 1. When the compressor 1 is burnt due to some cause under this condition to stop the rotation of said shaft 9, it causes slip between the rotor 7 and the disc 14. This slip is obtained as the difference of rotation by a processing circuit 19 in pickups 17, 18 provided respectively on the rotor 7 and the disc 14, and when it exceeds over predetermined level power is blocked from the coil 5 to release the clutch.
