Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an orifice clogging by fungas in the air by a method wherein an ink drop caught by a catcher is sterilized and recovered. CONSTITUTION:A wide and thin transparent tube 12 is provided between a catcher 6 and an ink tank 7, while an ultraviolet sterilizing lamp 13, a mirror 14 are provided at both sides of the transparent tube 12, which enables to perform the sterilization of the ink drop caught by the catcher. Otherwise, a revolving sterilizing lamp 15 is provided in the vicinity of the inlet of the catcher 6, wherein the ink stuck to the external glass of the sterilizing lamp 15 is removed by rotating a revolving cleaner 16 made of felt, or a surface type exothermic element 17 may be provided for the pipe 6' connected with the catcher 6.
