Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain a highly efficient operation constantly by providing two motors to a single compressor for obtaining high efficiency by driving two motors in a high load and a single motor in a low load.
CONSTITUTION: Driving motors 1 and 2 are arranged to the both ends of a compressor 3. As for the driving characteristics of the motor group thus arranged, motors 1 and 2 are given an equal output and the half of the capacity of the compressor. Consequently, the motor efficiency for the load can be found in the graph. That is, a curve "a" shows the efficiency of two-motor operation, while "b" shows that of a single motor. When the load is 100%, two motors are desirably operated. When the load is reduced on the curve "a" down to 75%, the curves "a" and "b" are crossed at a point "c". Therefore, a highly efficient operation can be maintained by driving two motors above 75%, and a single motor under 75%.
