Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain seal gaps against the long continuation of idling by devising to cool fixed seal parts after cooling runner seal parts.
CONSTITUTION: When cooling water 10 is injected to a groove 12 of a runner seal part for the idling of a runner, the cooling water is made to pass through several holes 13 provided inside the seal part to reach to the seal surface from the groove, and cool the seal surface. Consequently, seals 6 and 7 on the upper and the lower cover sides are cooled by the cooling water warmed to some extent as passing through the seal surface from the reached point, and on the contrary, the runner seal part is cooled by the cooling water not yet warmed essentially as a whole even within the seal part except near the seal surface. That is, the runner side seal part can be restrained from the expansive deformation caused by thermal rising.
