Abstract
PURPOSE: In a combination of heating precess and condensation process (by film filter device) on a liquid containing organic and inorganic matter which precipitates on heating, to ensure effective use of the heating and to reduce the scale trouble of the heating member.
CONSTITUTION: In treating a liquid containing proteins, for example, the liquid 1 is fed to an indirect contact heat exchanger E1, where it exchange heat with the liquid from a similar heat exchanger E2, before fed to a heater A, where it is heated by a heat source 2(e.g. steam) to solidify the proteins. The protein slurry 3 is fed to a separator B, solidified protein 4 is discharged, and separated liquid is fed to the heat exchanger E2. The liquid in the heat exchanger E2 is heat-exchanged with the residue 6 separated by a film separator C, and the separated liquid 8 is fed to the heat exchanger E1 for heat exchange with the liquid 1. The liquid 9 is fed to the separator C for separation into residue 6 and filtrate 10.
