Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent entry of foams into the serum to be dispensed into sample vessels and flying of serum by using the foam detector provided on the way of a serum discharge line and closing a valve upon detecting of any foam to stop discharge of the serum. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle 4 of a nozzle head 3 provided with a foam detector 9 is put in a specimen vessel 2. The end of the nozzle 4 is positioned at the boundary of serum and blood-clot by using a boundary detector 5. The serum is then drawn and contained into a liquid reservoir tank 6 by an exhaust pump 12. Next, a compression air supply source 13 is operated to subsequently dispense the serum in the liquid reservoir tank 6 into the sample vessels C1-4 in a sample rack 1. If the foam detector 9 detects any foam during the course of this, it stops discharging of the serum from the nozzle 4. With the sample vessel C5, the remaining serum is completely discharged irrespective of the foam detection of the detector 6. Since C5 is formed to have a deep bottom, there is no fear for flying of the serum.
